Montgomery Parks is bringing Baltimore singer-songwriter Enslow to Cabin John for a free outdoor tribute concert centered on hits from “the world’s biggest pop star.”
Local artist Enslow blends modern pop with indie and 1970s influences and was named Baltimore Magazine’s Best Band in Baltimore for 2024. For this show, she’ll put her own spin on the songs at the heart of the tribute.

😂 Comedy Under the Stars at Cabin John Park
Friday, August 14, 6 pm | Cabin John Regional Park Amphitheater, Bethesda
Montgomery Parks is bringing a full lineup of local stand-up comedians to Cabin John Regional Park for a free outdoor comedy night produced with Improbable Comedy.
The evening starts with food trucks and local craft drinks, followed by a 7 pm show featuring Justin Um, Shelley Kim, Jenny Questell, Dom Grayer, Sandi Benton, and Jack Coleman. Shelley Kim has been featured by Washingtonian, PBS, CBS, and The Washington Post, while several others on the lineup regularly perform at venues and comedy showcases around the region.

There’s no formal instruction, so the focus is less on following a lesson and more on practicing, experimenting, and creating alongside other local artists and art-curious neighbors. Work in whatever medium feels right — drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, or something else — while the model holds a single pose throughout the session with regular breaks.

August 14–22 | Montgomery County Agricultural Fairgrounds, Gaithersburg
The 77th Montgomery County Agricultural Fair returns for nine days of local food, animals, exhibits, competitions, live entertainment, and classic fair traditions.
Beginning at noon August 16, explore Home Arts, Arts & Crafts, Photography, and Farm & Garden exhibits, including flowers, creative tablescapes, baking and handmade projects. You can also talk gardening with Master Gardeners, watch honeybee demonstrations, visit the animal barns, and catch horse and livestock shows throughout the week.
Make a day of it with Dickerson Market’s fried chicken, ice cream from the Dairy Bar, local honey, pig races, magic and illusion shows, mermaid aerialists, and plenty more around the grounds. General admission is $18 at the gate.

Montgomery Parks is looking for a volunteer coordinator to help organize and lead a walking club for older adults across local parks and trails.
The role goes beyond simply showing up for walks. The coordinator will help develop routes, promote the club, recruit additional walk leaders, stay in touch with Parks staff, and attend most group walks. It’s a good fit for someone who enjoys walking, knows or wants to learn the local trail system, and likes bringing people together.
The commitment is long-term, at least six months, and volunteers should be able to lead 3–5 mile walks. A background check is required, and Montgomery Parks can provide CPR/First Aid training.
